Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 9:30 PM MDT on May 23, 2015

... A Flood Warning for small streams remains in effect until 515 am
MDT Sunday for northeastern Albany and west central Platte
counties...

At 924 PM MDT... local law enforcement reported flooding across the
warned area. Up to two inches of rain has already fallen over the
Laramie Mountains along the Albany Platte County lines. Palmer
Canyon Road west of Wheatland has been washed out in areas due to
flood waters.

This flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern
Albany and west central Platte counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams... rivers... or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
