Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 11:27 AM MDT on July 07, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 10 PM MDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Wyoming... including the
following areas... Casper Mountain... .Green Mountains and
rattlesnake range... Lander foothills... Natrona County lower
elevations and Wind River basin.

* Until 10 PM MDT this evening

* sub tropical moisture will override a surface front today.
Showers and embedded thunderstorms will increase across the area
this afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rainfall will fall out
of the stronger storm cores with up to an inch of precipitation
falling in short order... with the potential for flash flooding.

* Rock or mud slides will be possible in steeply sloped areas...
especially around Casper Mountain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
