Wind Chill Warning, Winter Weather Advisory

...Wind chill warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon MST Tuesday...

...Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a wind chill warning...which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon MST Tuesday.

* Snowfall...periods of snow will continue this morning with an additional 1 to 2 inches expected through noon Monday.

* Wind chill values...wind chills of 10 below to 20 below zero this afternoon will quickly lower between 25 below to 40 below zero tonight.

* Impacts...primarily travel difficulties with slick roadways. Bitter cold temperatures and gusty winds will result in wind chill values falling below 30 below zero tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The wind chill is the temperature your body feels when the air temperature is combined with the wind speed. With wind chills below minus 30 degrees...frostbite can occur in as little as 5 to 10 minutes. The most susceptible parts of the body are the extremities such as fingers...toes...ear lobes...or the tip of the nose.
