Statement as of 2:52 AM MDT on March 30, 2015

... Red flag warning remains in effect from noon today to 7 PM MDT
this evening for wind and low relative humidity for fire weather
zone 283...

* affected area... western portions fire weather zone 283... mainly
west of the Riverton Airport.

* Winds... west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Relative humidity... as low as 12 percent.

* Impacts... residents in this area are advised not to conduct
any burning this afternoon... as any fire could rapidly
spread through fine fuels such as grasses and small
vegetation.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

... Record high temperature set at Riverton WY...

another warm Spring day brought above normal temperatures once
again across the state. A record high temperature of 67 degrees was
set at Riverton WY yesterday. This breaks the old record of 63 set
in 2014. Note the records for the Riverton site only date back to
1995.

The record high temperature at the cooperative observer site in
Riverton for March 29 is 76 degrees... which was set in 1986.
