... Very strong west winds are expected in the Cody foothills
late tonight through Sunday night...
A rapidly increasing surface pressure gradient will combine with
increasing winds aloft to produce strong winds along the Cody
foothills early Sunday morning through Sunday night. Occasional wind
gusts of 40 to 50 mph will develop early Sunday morning... with the
possibility of some 60 mph wind gusts along the mountains near and
just south of Clark. More widespread sustained west winds of 25 to
35 mph with gusts over 50 mph will develop late Sunday afternoon and
continue Sunday night. Travellers between Cody and Clark should be
alert for very strong and sudden Crosswinds Sunday and Sunday night.
These winds may cause loss of vehicle control or a blow over to high
profile vehicles traveling empty or with a light Load.
