    Here is a record report from the National Weather Service in Charleston...

    ... Record low temperature set at Beckley...

    At 533 am today the temperature at Beckley West Virginia fell to 50
    degrees. That is a record low for July 24... breaking the old mark
    of 53 degrees set in 1996.

    ... Public information statement...

    ... Confirmed microbursts near ray in Vinton County Ohio...

    A National Weather Service storm survey team... has confirmed that
    the damage that occurred at the chief Logan reservation Boy Scout
    Camp on July 22 at 410 am... was the result of two microbursts. The
    damage occurred one half mile north of the Vinton and Jackson
    County line... 5 miles west of the town of ray. The microbursts
    were found to produce winds near 105 mph.

    There was extensive softwood tree damage found in two distinct
    paths in the campground. Numerous large Pine trees were snapped
    and uprooted in a diverging pattern... with 3 tents destroyed by
    fallen trees. The damage path of both microbursts was approximately
    500 yards in length... with a width of 25 to 40 yards.

    There was one minor injury to a boy scout. However... no serious
    injuries were reported... despite the large number of occupied tents
    located in the damage paths.
