November 8 through 14 is winter weather awareness week in West Virginia. Be ready for winter\s worst. If you were stranded in your car... what would you do.
To prepare... keep emergency supplies in your car trunk. Here is what to include.
A battery powered radio in case your car radio fails.
A flashlight with extra batteries. A first aid kit and manual. Pack a blanket and extra clothes.
Include a set of booster cables. These are used to start a car that has a dead battery. A shovel and a box of sand could make the difference if you are caught in snow.
Snack foods and bottled drinking water. And finally... a bright Orange cloth to hang on your antenna and some safety flares. These will tell others if you need help.
Put together your winter car kit today... just in case.
