... A Flood Warning for rain and snow melt remains in effect until
845 PM EST Wednesday for Tazewell... Summers... Greenbrier... Mercer
and Monroe counties...

At 1205 PM EST... several stream gages indicate flooding across the
warned area. Rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 0.75 inches of rain have
fallen along with rapid snow melt which is adding to the flooding.
The heaviest rainfall remains west of the warned area at this time
but additional rainfall is likely later this afternoon and evening
which could produce more rises on rivers and streams.

Flooding continues along the Clinch River in Tazewell County. The
river gage near Richlands was at 11.0 feet at 12 noon today and
still rising. Flood stage is 10 feet. The river will continue to
rise early this afternoon with a crest of 12 to 13 feet later this
afternoon. Moderate flood stage is 13 feet.

The Bluestone river in Mercer County has also exceeded its flood
stage of 12 feet and was at 12.40 feet just before 12 noon and still
rising. Extensive lowland flooding and is likely and several roads
will be affected.

Brush Creek in Mercer County is also still rising and could produce
flooding near and west of Princeton.

The East River near Willowton in Mercer County is just below the
flood stage of 9 feet and appears to be nearing its crest.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
