... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
7 PM EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... sleet... and freezing rain... which is
in effect from midnight tonight to 7 PM EST Thursday. The Winter
Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations... portions of southern and southeast West Virginia
and southwest Virginia.

* Hazard types... freezing rain... sleet... and snow.

* Ice accumulations... a glaze of ice possible.

* Snow accumulations... 2 to 3 inches possible.

* Timing... late tonight into Thursday.

* Impacts... untreated roads and sidewalks could become snow and
ice covered. Snow and ice could cause downed tree limbs and
power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow
... Sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...
and use caution while driving.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most
flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross
water covered bridges... dips... or low water crossings. Never try to
cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on foot. To escape rising
water move up to higher ground.

Excessive rainfall will cause stream banks to become unstable.
Unstable stream banks can fail or become slippery. Persons should
stay away from stream banks... swift flowing water and culverts. Stay
away or be swept away!
