the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh PA has confirmed a
microburst /straight line wind damage/ near clairon in clairon
County western Pennsylvania on 06/30/2015.
Damage included one snapped tree... a few uprooted trees... and
a metal roof from a garage was displaced approximately 30 yards.
The damage was just south of State Route 322 along on Dave storage Lane.
The National Weather Service would like to thank clairon County office of
emergency services for their assistance.

a microburst is a convective downdraft with an affected outflow
area of less than 2 1/2 miles wide and peak winds lasting less than
5 minutes. Microbursts may induce dangerous horizontal/vertical
wind shears... which can adversely affect aircraft performance and
cause property damage. Straight-line winds are generally any wind
that is not associated with rotation... used mainly to
differentiate them from tornadic winds.
