The Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until noon CST
Thursday.

* Precipitation began as a light freezing rain and light snow mix.
It will transition to a period of snow with sleet mixed in at
times this evening. It will transition to a mix of freezing
rain... and sleet later tonight into Thursday morning. The
mixture is expected to change over to mostly rain and drizzle by
Thursday afternoon... then change back over to all snow late
Thursday night or Friday morning.

* Total snow and sleet accumulations expected into Thursday
morning... 3 to 5 inches.

* Ice accumulations less than one quarter inch are possible into
Thursday morning.

* Winds... blustery east winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph
will continue into Thursday morning.

* Hazardous travel associated with snow and ice covered roads is
expected to develop through this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

A record snowfall of 3.8 inches was tied at Madison WI
yesterday... Tuesday December 22. This tied the previous record of
3.8 inches set in 1959.
