...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am CDT Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am CDT Thursday.

* Timing...snow will develop early this morning... continuing through much of the day tonight. The snow may mix with rain for a time during the day Wednesday. The snow will taper off early Thursday morning.

* Snow accumulation...6 to 10 inches...with lower amounts in southern portions of these counties due to rainfall mixing in with the snow today.

* Other impacts...travel will be hazardous through early Thursday morning. This will be a wet snow which will be difficult to shovel.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight... food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
