...Lake effect Snow Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to 11 am CDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a lake effect Snow Advisory...which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 11 am CDT Friday.

* Location...Iron County.

* Timing...this evening and into Friday morning. The snowfall intensity will peak late this evening and into the wee hours of Friday morning.

* Snow accumulations...2 to 4 inches. The highest amounts will likely be in the higher terrain in the Gogebic Range.

* Winds/visibility...10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. There could be patchy blowing snow which would reduce visibility in the more intense snow bands.

* Impacts...travel could be difficult this evening and overnight...including along Highway 2.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake-effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake-effect snow showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use caution when traveling.
