...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 PM this evening to 6 am CST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 6 am CST Wednesday.

* Location...parts of northwest Wisconsin generally along and east of a line from Hayward through Iron River.

* Timing...a rain/snow mixture is expected to become all snow by mid evening...and then continue the rest of tonight and Tuesday before diminishing Tuesday night.

* Snow/ice accumulations...3 to 5 inches...with some locally higher amounts possible in the higher terrain of Bayfield...Ashland and Iron counties.

* Impacts...untreated roads will become snow packed and icy tonight...continuing through Tuesday and into Tuesday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that accumulating snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and reduced visibility...and use caution while driving. Allow extra time to reach your destination.
