Between now and 6 PM scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to affect primarily the higher mountain locations and their vicinities over the east slopes of the northern Cascades...northern mountains of northeast Washington and northern Idaho...and the Blue Mountains and Camas Prairie of northern Idaho. Dangerous lightning...small hail...and wind gusts up to 30 mph can be expected with these storms as show a very slow movement to the east at 5 mph or less.
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the evening...then partly cloudy overnight. Lows in the 40s. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.

The high temperature at Mullan Pass yesterday was 52 degrees. This sets the record for the coldest high temperature for this date. The previous record of 58 degrees was set in 1948. Records have been kept at this site since 1938.
