Special Statement
Statement as of 4:12 PM PDT on March 27, 2015

... Cold frontal passage expected overnight with windy conditions...

A cold front will sweep across the region passing over the Columbia
Basin around midnight. Some light rain will be possible
with the front but an increase in westerly winds behind the front will
be the main impact from the frontal passage. Winds will increase to 20
to 30 mph with gusts around 45 mph which will continue through
Saturday morning before decreasing through the day. There is the
potential for some localized blowing dust near freshly plowed fields
but the wetting effects of rainfall within the past 48 hours
means soil conditions are not favorable for widespread blowing
dust.
