Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 2:28 PM PST on November 14, 2009
... Light freezing rain possible late tonight and Sunday night...
The leading edge of warm frontal precipitation will reach the
Cascades late tonight and continue for the next few days. There
will be a marginally warm layer setting up over the Cascades with
cold air possibly trapped in the valleys along the east slopes.
This combination has a very slight potential to produce very light
freezing rain where this cold air is trapped during the morning
hours. Precipitation amounts are expected to be a few hundredths or
less thus the main impact is expected to be black ice on roadways
and especially on overpasses. There is only moderate confidence
that this event will occur. Please continue to monitor the latest
forecasts and statements from the National Weather Service or your
local media outlets should additional statements be issued.
