Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:38 AM PST on November 16, 2009
... Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday morning...
The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of western Washington... including the following
counties... Grays Harbor... Clallam... Jefferson... Skagit...
Whatcom... Mason... Snohomish.
* Through Wednesday morning
* heavy rain in the Olympics through tonight could drive rivers
above flood stage. The Skokomish River in Mason County is
already under a Flood Warning... and major flooding is possible.
Other olympic peninsula rivers like the Satsop...
bogachiel... elwah... and Dungeness rivers could also flood.
* The Nooksack river in Whatcom County cloud also flood. If
flooding does develop on the Nooksack river it would most
likely occur tonight or Tuesday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but
flooding is not imminent or occurring. Monitor the latest
forecasts from the National Weather Service and be ready to act
quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.

Statement as of 12:18 PM PST on November 16, 2009
... Wind Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon PST Tuesday... ... Wind Advisory has expired... The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon PST Tuesday. The Wind Advisory from this morning has expired. The high wind watch is no longer in effect. Another period of damaging winds is possible tonight through Tuesday morning as a deep surface low moves northeast across Vancouver Island. Widespread winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph are possible with this system. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely. Winds this strong can snap small tree branches... topple small or shallow-rooted trees... and cause local power outages.
