Special Statement
Statement as of 2:38 PM PDT on July 03, 2015

... Hot weather for the Holiday weekend for western Washington... .

High temperatures will continue to be well above normal through
the weekend. On Saturday temperatures will again be in the 80s and
lower 90s for much of the area... with the coast in the 70s. On
Sunday the coast will warm well into the 80s and inland areas
could reach the mid 90s.

The recent warm dry weather has lead areas of tall grass drying
out early this Summer. Fireworks are banned in a number of
communities and for the most part campfires are banned as well.

Cooler cloudier weather may develop toward the end of next week.

..hot weather will continue over western Washington through the
Fourth of July weekend... .

High pressure aloft will remain over the Pacific northwest
through the Fourth of July weekend. This will keep high temperatures
well above normal. For today and Saturday... the hottest temperatures
will be over the greater Puget Sound region and the southwest
interior with highs in the 80s to lower 90s. The coast and
northwest interior will be in the 70s to mid 80s.

On Sunday... low level offshore flow will develop which will push
high temperatures into the 80s to mid 90s for most of western
Washington. Record high temperatures will probably occur in some
locations for the date.
