Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 9:58 AM PST on November 15, 2009
... Flood Watch in effect from late tonight through Wednesday
morning...
The National Weather Service in Seattle has expanded the
* Flood Watch to include portions of western Washington...
including the following counties... Skagit and Snohomish.
* From late tonight through Wednesday morning
* the Skagit River in Skagit County could flood or reach near
flood stage. If flooding does develop on the Skagit River it
would most likely occur Monday night or Tuesday. Other river
basins in Skagit and Snohomish counties are also at risk.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but
flooding is not imminent or occurring. Monitor the latest
forecasts from the National Weather Service and be ready to act
quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.
High Wind Warning
Statement as of 3:22 PM PST on November 15, 2009
... High Wind Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Tuesday... ... Wind Advisory is cancelled... The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a High Wind Warning... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Tuesday. The Wind Advisory has been cancelled. The high wind watch is no longer in effect. Surface winds will increase tonight through Mon morning as strong south flow aloft interacts with the Olympics. Expect southeast winds in the north interior to rise to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph later tonight through Monday morning. Winds will decrease later Monday and Monday evening between systems. Then south winds will increase to 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 70 mph late Mon night through midday Tuesday. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A High Wind Warning means that a hazardous wind event is imminent or occurring. High winds can topple trees... down power lines... and destroy property. People in the north interior should be prepared for power outages that locally last for a few days.
