* At 3:15 PM Monday the stage was 5.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage around 10 PM
Monday and crest near 7.5 feet around 12 am Tuesday. The river will
fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 7.0 feet... the Dungeness river will flood roads and
pasture lands... with swift flood waters threatening some
residential areas. Erosion may damage river banks

the Elwha river at McDonald bridge
* from 1 am Tuesday until Tuesday afternoon.
* At 3:00 PM Monday the stage was 18.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage around 1 am
Tuesday and crest near 20.0 feet around 4 am Tuesday. The river
will fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 20.0 feet... the Elwha river will flood roads and
pasture
lands along the river... with flood waters encroaching on some
residential areas

the bogachiel river near La Push
* from 5 PM Monday until Tuesday afternoon.
* At 3:00 PM Monday the stage was 36.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 37.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage around 5 PM Monday
and crest near 38.0 feet around 7 PM Monday. The river will fall
below flood stage early Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 37.0 feet... the bogachiel river will cause flooding of
State Highway 110 near the bogachiel bridge... closing the Road.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a
* Flood Warning for small streams in...
Clallam County...
Jefferson County...
Mason County...
Grays Harbor County...
* until 1115 PM PST Tuesday.
* At 1117 am PST heavy rain over the Olympic Mountains will cause
widespread high water... including flooding... on small streams and
rivers of the olympic peninsula.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Runoff from the heavy rains could trigger landslides and debris
flows.
Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Heavy rain will continue to fall this afternoon and
tonight before tapering to showers during the day Tuesday. Rivers
will remain high... in some cases flooding adjacent areas... through
Tuesday evening.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
