... Flood Watch now in effect from late tonight through Wednesday
morning...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of western Washington... including the following
counties... Grays Harbor... Clallam... Jefferson... Whatcom Mason.

* From late tonight through Wednesday morning

* heavy rain in the Olympics tonight through Monday night could
drive rivers above flood stage. The Skokomish River in Mason
County faces the greatest threat of flooding... and major
flooding is possible. Other olympic peninsula rivers like the
Satsop... bogachiel... elwah... and Dungeness rivers could also
flood.

* The Nooksack river in Whatcom County cloud also flood. If
flooding does develop on the Nooksack river it would most likely
occur Monday night or Tuesday.



Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but
flooding is not imminent or occurring. Monitor the latest
forecasts from the National Weather Service and be ready to act
quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 4 PM PST
Tuesday. The Wind Advisory has been cancelled. The high wind
watch is no longer in effect.

Surface winds will increase tonight through Mon morning as strong
south flow aloft interacts with the Olympics. Expect southeast
winds in the north interior to rise to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to
60 mph later tonight through Monday morning.

Winds will decrease later Monday and Monday evening between systems.
Then south winds will increase to 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 70
mph late Mon night through midday Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means that a hazardous wind event is imminent
or occurring. High winds can topple trees... down power lines... and
destroy property. People in the north interior should be prepared
for power outages that locally last for a few days.
