Statement as of 3:13 AM EST on March 02, 2015

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EST this morning.

* Areas affected: central and eastern Virginia... interior northeast
North Carolina.

* Hazards: poor visibilities due to dense fog.

* Visibilities: one quarter mile or less.

* Timing: through 10 am this morning.

* Impacts: significant reductions in visibility will result in
dangerous travel conditions this morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced
to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your
headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Special Statement
Statement as of 10:28 PM EST on March 01, 2015

... Patchy icy conditions persist overnight...

Areas of black ice will be possible on untreated surfaces
overnight over much of central and southeast Virginia as air
temperatures hover around freezing in some locations... even as
many areas rise or remain just above freezing. Please use extra
caution if traveling and be prepared for icy patches on
roadways... primarily on bridges and overpasses.
