Statement as of 4:54 AM EST on December 25, 2009 ... Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today... A Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today. * Light freezing rain will continue this morning. * Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of icing is expected... with the heavier amounts along and on either side of the Blue Ridge... and on east facing slopes. * Untreated roads will be slick... especially bridges and overpasses. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. The public is encouraged to report ice accumulation to the National Weather Service via email at rnk.Skywarn@noaa.Gov or at phone number 1... 8 6 6... 2 1 5... 4 3 2 4. |
