The coastal Flood Warning is now in effect until 11 am EDT Tuesday.
Strong winds on the back side of a low pressure system moving northeast off the Delmarva will contribute to rising water levels over both the Chesapeake and Atlantic coastal locations of the Maryland Eastern Shore. This will cause moderate coastal flooding around the time of high tide this afternoon... and possibly again late tonight into early Tuesday morning.
Tide levels are expected to increase to 2 to 2.5 feet above normal this afternoon and again overnight. The following are the times and forecasted levels of high tides at Ocean City pier... with the tide levels referenced to mean lower low water.

A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water... and take appropriate action to protect life and property.

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 am EDT Tuesday.
Low pressure moves off the Delmarva coast this afternoon and strengthens as it slowly shifts northeast of the area. As a result... the winds in coastal locations of Maryland... Virginia and North Carolina will increase to 30 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 to 50 mph from the north this evening and overnight.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... and may cause minor property damage without extra precautions.
