Coastal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:16 PM EST on November 14, 2009
... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...
A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening.
Strong northerly winds have diminished this afternoon. This
decrease in wind speed will allow positive tidal anomalies to
spread northward through the remainder of the Chesapeake Bay...
which should serve to decrease departures across the remainder of
the Bay. Tidal anomalies this afternoon will contribute to minor
coastal flooding along the western shore of the Maryland
Chesapeake Bay and along the tidal Potomac River. Anomalies will
decrease tonight... with subsequent high tides expected at this
time to remain below minor flooding thresholds.
Here are the times of the next high tides
for a few locations from north to south...
on the Chesapeake Bay...
Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy... 3:21 PM...
Now along the Potomac River...
Alexandria... 6:16 PM...
Indian Head... 5:44 PM...
