At 708 PM EDT... an area of showers with heavy rain was located 3 miles north of Cana... moving northeast at 10 mph. Wind gusts to 30 mph and small hail are possible with these showers. Very heavy rain will fall from these storms... and will cause water to pond on roads and quickly fill roadside ditches and small streams. Showers will be near Fancy Gap around 715 PM... Groundhog Mountain around 735 PM... Gladesboro around 740 PM... Laurel Fork around 800 PM and Dugspur around 815 PM. 07/09/2009 1200 am 5 miles N of Fries, Carroll County. Flash flood, reported by storm chaser. Water flowing over Byllesby Road caused debris to collect on the Road. A citizen measured 5.70 inches of rain on Byllesby Road.
