... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST
Wednesday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST
Wednesday.
Snow and sleet will develop early this afternoon from the
south central Virginia Piedmont... to the Richmond Metro area...
and then spread toward the Chesapeake Bay by mid afternoon. The
precipitation will steadily transition to freezing rain and rain
by late afternoon. The precipitation is expected to change to
rain during the evening... then mix with or change back to snow
late tonight. Snow accumulations of up to one inch are possible.
A minor ice accumulation is anticipated as well.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
