... Dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 am EST Thursday...
A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 am EST Thursday for locations east of the Blue Ridge... and the Shenandoah Valley.
Calm winds... mostly clear skies... and abundant surface moisture have combined to produce areas of dense fog across the region late this evening. Overnight... this fog will continue to become more widespread... with a prolonged period of dense fog expected across much of Maryland... northern Virginia... and the eastern West Virginia Panhandle. After sunrise... the fog should begin to diminish.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
