Showers and lightning storms along the east and West Coast sea breezes will continue to develop as they move into east central Florida through the afternoon hours. Individual storms will move off to the east-northeast...with more activity expected along the western sea breeze as it moves into lake and Osceola counties. The main threats with the slow moving showers and storms this afternoon will be heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Torrential downpours with localized amounts up to 3 inches...causing ponding of water on roadways and flooding of poorly drained and low lying areas. A few storms may contain gusty winds up to 40 mph. When out and about today...be sure to remain alert to changing weather conditions and seek shelter inside a sturdy building at the first sign of threatening weather.
