Statement as of 11:31 AM EST on November 14, 2009 The Flood Warning continues for the Nottoway River at Rawlings * until this evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 11:00 am Saturday the stage was 10.5 feet * minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 10.0 feet * forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by late this afternoon. This river level is comparable to a previous crest of 11.1 feet on Dec 13 2008. 1131 am EST Sat Nov 14 2009 The Flood Warning continues for the Appomattox river at Matoaca * until late tonight... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 11:00 am Saturday the stage was 9.6 feet * minor flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 10.0 feet * forecast... the river will continue rising to near 10.0 feet by this evening. The river will fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. * At 10.0 feet... minor flooding begins. Canal begins to overflow along the right bank. This river level is comparable to a previous crest of 10.3 feet on Nov 17 2006.
