A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Thursday.
An area of low pressure will continue to intensify off the mid- Atlantic coast overnight. Precipitation will continue across the Potomac Highlands and temperatures across the higher elevations will be cold enough for snow. One to two inches of snow is expected across elevations above 3500 feet. Precipitation will change to all rain Thursday morning as warmer air works its way into the region.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

... Street flooding...
Several inches of rain are possible over the next couple of days... especially along and east of Interstate 95. The rainfall will be steady and prolonged... therefore flash flooding or river flooding due to heavy rain is not expected.
However... this time of year is prime for producing high standing water on roads and streets... especially in urbanized areas. It is also more difficult for rainfall to run off into tidal areas because of higher than normal tides. It is a good idea to check storm drains in your area and clear out fallen leaves and debris. Baltimore City... Washington DC... Alexandria and Annapolis are at greatest risk for street flooding.
