Statement as of 12:51 PM EST on December 08, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Wednesday... A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Wednesday. * Timing: rain and sleet begins late this afternoon. The precipitation will change to all freezing rain this evening and back to all rain after midnight. * Main impact: up to two tenths of an inch of ice accumulation with isolated amounts up to one half inch especially in Bath County. * Other impacts: little to no sleet accumulation. * Temperatures will rise overnight changing all of the precipitation to rain by early Wednesday morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. |
