Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this evening to 4 PM EST Wednesday... A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this evening to 4 PM EST Wednesday. These advisories are in effect for southwestern Virginia... as well as the northern and Smoky Mountains of east Tennessee. * Timing: light snow will continue today... but most areas will see mostly today... before ending. Snow showers will develop late this evening and continue at least through Wednesday afternoon. * Accumulations: snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible today... with little to no ice accumulations. Accumulating snow showers are expected overnight into Wednesday afternoon... with amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible overnight... and 1 to 4 inches possible on Wednesday. * Impacts: snow and ice may accumulate on the roads making travel difficult... with some blowing snow possible on Wednesday due to very strong west to northwest winds. Travel will become very hazardous... and any unnecessary travel should be delayed. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... and/or freezing rain are expected or occurring... but accumulations are expected to be light. Driving and walking may be difficult on untreated roadways and sidewalks. Be prepared for snow and ice covered roads and limited visibilities. If you must travel... slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this evening to 6 am EST Thursday. * Timing: south winds at 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts will become westerly winds will increase late this evening and remain strong and gusty through early Thursday morning. * Winds: south winds at 20 to 30 mph will switch to the west to northwest winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph can be expected tonight. * Impacts: winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles... so use caution when driving. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that winds of 26 to 39 mph and/or gusts of 40 to 57 mph are expected or occurring.
