Statement as of 3:23 AM MST on November 15, 2009 ... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM MST this afternoon... A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM MST this afternoon. This Wind Advisory is for canyon winds in Washington County and includes utahs Dixie region and Zion National Park. Sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts near 50 mph will continue in the north to south canyons through the morning hours. These winds will gradually decrease this afternoon. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected. Motorists in the advisory area should be prepared for sudden gusty winds which can make driving difficult. For more information from NOAA/S National Weather Service visit...
