Statement as of 9:44 AM MST on March 02, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 9 PM MST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until 9
PM MST this evening. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in
effect.

* Affected area... south central Utah.

* Snow accumulations... storm total snow of 8 to 14 inches above
5500 feet with 1 to 4 inches elsewhere. Locally higher amounts
are possible near Orderville and along Highway 12.

* Timing... snow... mixing with rain at times below 5500
feet... with continue heavy at times into the afternoon before
slowly tapering off.

* Snow levels... fluctuating between 5000 and 5500 feet.

* Impacts... winter driving conditions including snow packed roads
and significantly reduced visibility can be expected along US-
89 north of Kanab... as well as along Highway 12 and other area
highways. Travel may be difficult at times due to the heavy
snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means that significant
accumulations of snow are expected or occurring. Driving
conditions may be hazardous. Use caution. Keep a winter storm
survival kit in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
