a Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 11 PM CDT for all but the extreme eastern Texas and Oklahoma panhandles... scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move southeast at 20 mph through early this evening across western sections of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. The trends on the showers and storms is to weaken as they move into the panhandles. The showers and thunderstorms will affect locations generally along and west of an Elkhart Kansas to Happy line through 8 PM CDT. Kenton...Black Mesa State Park...Boise City...Dalhart...Romero...Wheeless...felt... Texline and Ware are just some of the communities which will be affected by the showers and storms. Strong gusty winds...possible hail...and deadly cloud to ground lightning can be expected from the storms. Also...heavy rainfall from the stronger storms may result in localized flooding. Rainfall amounts will average between one tenth and one quarter of an inch...however amounts up to an inch will be possible from the stronger storms. Other showers and thunderstorms may develop elsewhere across the panhandles until sunset...as a very moist and unstable airmass remains in place.
