An area of showers...with a few embedded thunderstorms will continue across the extreme southwest Texas Panhandle early this morning... mainly across southern and western Deaf Smith County. This includes the communities of Hereford...Simms and Walcott. Residents can expected moderate to heavy rainfall and an occasional rumble of thunder as this complex of showers and thunderstorms moves to the southwest at 25 mph. Additional rainfall amounts will generally remain less than 1/4 of an inch. Additional showers will develop over the eastern Oklahoma Panhandle and northeast Texas Panhandle as an upper level disturbance moves out of Colorado. These showers will generally remain to the north and east of a line from Elkhart...to Spearman...to Canadian. Rainfall amounts will remain relatively light...generally less than 1/10 of an inch. A few of these showers may develop into thunderstorms later this morning.
