regional weather discussion... a few showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible across far northwest Oklahoma late this afternoon. At 630 PM...showers and a few thunderstorms were located across far northwest Oklahoma. This activity and will move east and northeast across areas mainly north of Rosston to Buffalo to Freedom line. Brief moderate rain... gusty winds in excess of 40 mph and lightning will accompany the stronger storms. Otherwise very hot conditions can be expected this afternoon with temperatures running from near 110 degrees in far northwest Oklahoma to the middle and upper 90s in far southeast Oklahoma. Most locations were also seeing heat indices between 100 and 110 degrees with a south to southwest wind.
