Showers and thunderstorms will move into the Plains, while also continuing across the East Coast on Friday. A low pressure system over the Rocky Mountains will persist on its eastward track and move into the Plains. Flow around this system will create northward flow, pulling abundant moisture and energy in from the Gulf of Mexico. This will allow for scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop across the Southern Plains again on Friday, spreading northward through the Central and Northern Plains. There is a slight chance that these storms will turn severe across northeastern Colorado, into western Kansas and Nebraska. Large hail and strong winds are likely in these areas, with possibly a tornado or two.

Meanwhile in the East, a trough of low pressure and associated cold front will slowly move eastward and offshore the East Coast on Friday. This system will allow for showers and thunderstorms to persist from the Mid-Atlantic states through Maine. Severe thunderstorms are not likely in these areas, but periods of heavy rainfall and strong winds will persist as this system lingers over the Northeast through Friday night.

Out West, an area of low pressure continues spinning over the Pacific Northwest, maintaining onshore flow. This will bring more rain showers to Oregon and Washington, with snow showers possible at highest elevations.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Tom Green County in west central Texas...

* until 200 am CDT

* at 1155 PM CDT... local law enforcement officials reported some
roads in San Angelo impassable... and more rainfall is expected
over the next 2 hours.

* Impacts from this intense rainfall will include:
flooding of low lying roads and intersections.
Rapid rise of area creeks... streams... and arroyos.

Water will be high and fast enough to stall vehicles or wash
them completely off the Road.

Some locations that will experience flooding include... Christoval...
San Angelo... Carlsbad... Grape Creek... Knickerbocker... Mereta...
Orient... Tankersley... Vancourt... Veribest... wall and Water Valley.

This includes the low water crossings at...

northern Tom Green County in west central Texas...

* until 100 am CDT

* at 1104 PM CDT showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall
extended from the o h ivie Reservoir to Robert Lee... and from
west of San Angelo to Arden and Water Valley. These nearly stationary
thunderstorms were producing heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 3
inches.

* Impacts from this heavy rainfall will include:
flooding of low lying roads and intersections.
Flooding of low water crossings... avoid these areas. Rapid rise
of area creeks... streams... and arroyos.

Potential storm hazards include...
gusty winds and small hail

At 1123 PM CDT... numerous strong thunderstorms were noted across
much of the Concho Valley and the Heartland... from San Angelo to
Brady. Many of these storms will be capable of producing small hail
up to dime size... and wind gusts to 45 mph. The individual storms
were drifting northwest... .while the entire area was developing to
the south.

Potential storm impacts include...
a few weak branches broken...
an isolated power outage possible...
hazardous driving conditions...
