... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon CST
Thursday... for east and northeast Texas and lower parts of
northwest Louisiana south of Interstate 20...

* event... rain will transition to freezing rain and a mix of
sleet... then change over to sleet and snow before mostly all
snow.

* Timing... rain will transition to freezing rain and a mix of
sleet... before 3 am CST... and then over to sleet and snow before
6 am CST... and mostly snow after 6 am through mid to late
morning before tapering off.

* Impact... freezing rain and sleet accumulations of less than a
quarter of an inch may make driving conditions hazardous...
mainly on bridges and overpasses along and south of the I-20
corridor.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
sleet may cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery
bridges and overpasses and use caution while driving.

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CST Thursday...

* event... high pressure building behind a strong cold front will
bring north winds of 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts late this
afternoon and tonight.

* Timing... winds are increasing in the wake of the surface front
and will persist overnight. Surface winds will slowly diminish
around sunrise Thursday morning across deep East Texas and west
central Louisiana.

* Impact... boaters should exercise caution due to rough chop on
area lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
