Nowcast | as of 3:40 am CDT on May 30, 2015

At 340 am...Shreveport National Weather Service Doppler showed an isolated strong shower at Shongaloo la. We can expect widely scattered showers and potentially an isolated thunderstorm anywhere over southeast Oklahoma...south Arkansas...north Louisiana and northeast Texas...as a weak upper disturbance over AR moves eastward. Also...an approaching cold front over OK is going to be increasing the coverage of showers and thunderstorms before sunrise. However... over the next couple of hours...rainfall amounts will average only a couple hundredths of an inch...with very sparse higher amounts of a tenth or quarter inch from any downpours.

amounts to near four inches. The soil remains saturated and
this new rainfall will quickly runoff into our already swollen
local and area wide drainage systems.

* Low lying and poor drainage areas... especially in the vicinity
of rapidly rising bayous... creeks and streams... will be most
prone to flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
