... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 9 PM this
evening to noon CST Thursday...

* event... rain will begin to transition to freezing rain late this
evening or overnight and then perhaps over to sleet by daybreak
as the cold air deepens over the area along and south of I-20.

* Timing... wintry precipitation in the form of freezing rain is
expected perhaps by late this evening and especially overnight
followed by a transition to sleet before daybreak.

* Impact... freezing rain and sleet accumulations of less than a
tenth of an inch may make driving conditions hazardous... mainly
on bridges and overpasses along and south of the I-20 corridor.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
sleet may cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery
bridges and overpasses and use caution while driving.

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 6 am
CST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 6 am
CST Thursday.

* Event... high pressure building behind a strong cold front will
bring north winds up to 20 mph with higher gusts late this
afternoon and tonight.

* Timing... winds will increase to around 20 mph along the
Interstate 30 corridor and spread southward late this afternoon
and into the overnight hours. Winds to diminish around sunrise
Thursday morning across deep East Texas and west central Louisiana.

* Impact... boaters should exercise caution due to rough chop on
area lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
