... Winter weather and accumulating snowfall possible late
Wednesday through early Thursday...

Precipitation... most likely in the form of light rain showers
initially... will begin to increase over the extreme southern
Panhandle and the South Plains Wednesday. Although some of the
rain may mix with light snow during the daytime hours over the
extreme southwestern Panhandle and the western South Plains...
snow will become more likely by Wednesday night. Snowfall will be
light over most of the region... but may become moderate or locally
heavy over the extreme southern Panhandle and the northern South
Plains and rolling plains overnight... where snow accumulations of
one inch or more will be possible. Localized snow totals may
approach 4 inches over the extreme southern Texas Panhandle.
Lighter accumulations may occur further south over the remainder
of the South Plains and rolling plains.

Area residents and those planning travel across the South Plains
and Panhandle region Wednesday and Thursday should monitor the
latest forecast and listen for possible winter weather advisories
and or watches and warnings.
