... Freeze warning remains in effect from 2 am CST /1 am MST/ to
9 am CST /8 am MST/ Tuesday...
A freeze warning remains in effect for southern Lea County in
southeastern New Mexico... much of the Permian Basin... The Trans
Pecos region and the Presidio valley from 2 am CST... or 1 am
MST... to 9 am CST... or 8 am MST Tuesday.
Dry air... light winds and clear skies over the area tonight will
allow temperatures to drop into the 20s to lower 30s late tonight
and Tuesday morning. This will be the first hard or long lasting
freeze across the warned Ara. Therefore... a freeze warning
remains in effect late tonight through early Tuesday morning.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A freeze warning means sub freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.
Those with cold sensitive plants or animals... or other concerns
related to freezing temperatures... should begin preparations now
for this freeze. If you have not already done so... now is the time
to make sure heaters are in proper working order.
