Early this evening...showers and a few thunderstorms were ongoing primarily across portions of Freestone and Anderson County. This activity was generally moving towards the north at around 10 to 15 mph. Elsewhere...skies were partly cloudy and temperatures generally ranged between the upper 90s and 100 degrees. Southerly winds of around 15 to 25 mph were also being reported across much of north and central Texas. Through mid evening...isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible...primarily along and south of the Interstate 20 corridor. The main hazards with thunderstorms will be gusty winds...cloud to ground lightning...and heavy rain. This activity may persist 1 to 2 hours after sunset.
