National Weather Service Doppler radar indicates scattered thunderstorms developing across portions of East Texas...south of Interstate 20. These storms are moving to the east at around 20 mph. Through 7 PM...expect these strong storms to continue. These storms will be capable of producing damaging winds...hail... frequent cloud to ground lightning...and prolonged heavy downpours.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... northwestern Nacogdoches County in eastern Texas... this includes the city of Nacogdoches... eastern Cherokee County in northeast Texas... southern Rusk County in northeast Texas...
* until 645 PM CDT
* at 617 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing nickel size hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located about 10 miles east of Rusk... and moving east at 25 mph.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds... continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately! Lightning is one of natures number one killers. Remember... if you can hear thunder... you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
