	Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 4:09 AM CST on December 23, 2009 ... Wintry weather expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning followed by much colder temperatures... A powerful upper level system will move across the area Wednesday through Thursday. Initially... scattered showers are expected to move into the area by Wednesday afternoon... increasing in coverage between 6 PM and midnight. A cold front will sweep southward Wednesday night... making its way through the entire area by early Thursday morning. At the same time... the upper level low is expected to track over the Big Country. This will be favorable for some snow showers to occur across the Big Country after midnight Wednesday night. The most favorable area for accumulating snowfall will be in Haskell and Throckmorton counties between 3 am and 9 am Thursday morning. Accumulations of up to 1 inch will be possible in this area with up to a dusting as far south as the Interstate 20 corridor. Much colder air will follow this system with highs only in the upper 30s to mid 40s Thursday... and lows around 20 Christmas morning. Residents with Holiday travel plans should monitor the latest conditions and forecasts... and plan for the potential of hazardous travel conditions.
