Residents should not drive if not necessary with some roads blocked
by down trees... limbs and possible power line. Many roads remain
flooded or could flood with heavy rains at times today.
Use precautionary measures today if you plan on clearing debris.
Watch for down power lines and broken glass when clearing or
cutting debris and tree branches. Propane tanks can be a hazardous
as will be snakes and fire ants that were disturbed from their
natural habitat.

Southeast to south winds of 20 to 40 mph are expected
today... mainly this morning. Winds should diminishing to
20 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph this afternoon.

The probability of tropical storm force winds is 50 to
60 percent.

Intermittent moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over portions
of Hidalgo... Willacy and Cameron counties today. These heavy rains
will continue to produce flooding of roadways and street in low
lying areas and will exacerbate the minor flooding that is already
taking place.
For the event... current data suggests a total of 10 to 15 inches
area wide from Wednesday through last night. With locally higher
amounts ranging from 20 to 25 inches possible.
