	Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 4:03 PM CST on December 23, 2009 ... Wintry weather expected late tonight into Thursday morning followed by much colder temperatures... A powerful upper level system will move across the area tonight through Thursday. Initially... scattered showers are expected to move into the area by late this afternoon and evening... increasing in coverage between 6 PM and midnight. A cold front will sweep southward tonight... making its way through the entire area by early Thursday morning. At the same time... the upper level low is expected to track over the Big Country... possibly as far south as the Concho Valley and Heartland. This will be favorable for some snow across the Big Country after midnight and Thursday morning. The most favorable area for accumulating snowfall will be in along and north of Interstate 20... mainly between 3 am and 9 am Thursday morning. Also... locally higher amounts will be possible if heavy snow bands develop. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches across the Big Country... with up to a dusting as far south as the Concho Valley and northern Heartland. There is still some uncertainty with this system... and heavier snowfall may be possible... stay tune for possible upgrade to a Winter Storm Warning.
