Heat Advisory
Statement as of 3:32 PM CDT on July 04, 2009
... Heat advisory now in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening...
The heat advisory issued earlier this morning for a large portion
of south central Texas along and east of the I-35 corridor and
over portions of the Rio Grande plains..will be discontinued after
7 PM this evening. Forecast lows will reach the low to mid 70s
with heat indices near 105 tomorrow afternoon in the advisory
area.. thus criteria for issuance will not be reached.
Until 7 PM however..the heat advisory remains in effect.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
